Our political platform

European values

European societies should be characterized by diversity, equality, tolerance, justice and solidarity.

We believe that the common values of the EU should always underpin the decisions taken by the Union, disseminate knowledge of EU values and work towards closer cooperation and European integration.

The climate crisis

The climate crisis does not affect one country, but across borders. Demanding climate cuts and action across borders is a key strength.

We believe that the transition to self-sufficiency and renewable energy must happen quickly and in a socially fair way that ensures secure access to energy for the population. Therefore, the EU must invest more in nuclear energy and maintain the quota system, and Norway should fully participate in the quota market. Norway must also urgently implement the EU's clean energy package and participate fully in EU energy cooperation.

International solidarity

The EU is the most important democratic institution in Europe and should contribute to democracy both inside and outside its territories. The EU must be aware of its international responsibilities. This means pursuing sustainable and mutually supportive policies that contribute to raising living standards and development in countries outside Europe.

We believe that the EU must take a more active role in Aid for Trade and target its aid policy towards the most vulnerable parts of the world. The EU should also focus on aid through trade and development rather than purely economic means.

We also believe that the EU must maintain and strengthen its sanctions against Russia and that Norway should join them.

Equality for all

The EU has long been a driving force for equality, but progress is not fast enough in all countries. Both between the sexes, but also around rights for queer people. Discrimination is a growing problem.

We believe that the EU should continue to work towards the goal of a gender equal society, strengthening women's rights and research on women's health. We believe that the EU must ensure queer rights in all EU countries and cut funding to governments in LGBT-free zones, where queer people are not welcome. The EU should increase its support to LGBT+ organizations in countries where such organizations are particularly vulnerable.

Democratic Europe

Many of the countries in Europe are democratic, while a few are dictatorships or are at the crossroads between democracy and dictatorship. The EU's democracy stands out as an example.

We believe that the EU needs to work with civil society to strengthen European governance, and to play a greater role in bringing decisions closer to the people, so that they are taken at local level.
